Gina is the co-anchor of NBC 13's 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts.
Hello, friends. Gina says 'thank you' for taking the time to read her bio. As many of you know, Gina arrived here in Central Alabama in late June 2005. Although she truly consider Alabama home, she is actually from the City of Brotherly Love.
Yes, Gina grew up in Philadelphia and have spent much of her adult life trying to get rid of her Philly accent. She thought going to Penn State University would do the trick, but it didn't. Instead, after four years as a Nittany Lion, she became a football fanatic and cried blue and white tears for years. She also had the honor of being crowned Miss Penn State and earning to title of second runner-up in the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant-and yes, she really did do it for the scholarship money!
After graduation, she worked at several radio stations before getting her "big" break in television. It was a job as a part-time reporter at WTAJ-TV in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Over the years Gina's career has taken her to some great cities like Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Dallas, Texas. However, her favorite place to live so far has been right here in Birmingham, Alabama. She loves the people, she thinks the State of Alabama is beautiful and she truly enjoys her job.
In her spare time, Gina enjoys reading a good book, watching an action packed movie, and engaging in any and all outdoor activities. She's also striving to become a better cook, so if you have a great recipe, please pass it her way.
Again, thank you for taking the time to read Gina's bio. She looks forward to seeing you every weekday beginning at 5 p.m.
