Don Hawes - Sports director

Don Hawes is the sports director for NBC13.

Before arriving in Birmingham in August of 2005, Hawes spent 10 years as an award-winning Sports Director at WALA-TV in Mobile, Ala., where he won Associated Press awards for Best Sports Reporter and Best Sports Story.

While in Mobile, Hawes also served as a sports talk show host at WNSP-FM. Don began his television career in South Bend, Ind., at WSBT-TV.

He was raised in Fraser, Mich., outside of Detroit and graduated from Central Michigan University.

Hawes and his wife Stacey have two children, son Will and daughter Kate.
