SEC continues to dominate on national level

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - LSU’s baseball national championship was
the fifth title for Southeastern Conference teams during the school
year.
    That matches the previous year’s total.
    The Tigers wrapped up the title with a win over Texas on
Wednesday night.
    The SEC had either the national champion or the runner-up in
half of the league’s 20 sports.
    League teams won titles in football, men’s swimming and diving,
women’s indoor track and field, gymnastics and baseball.
    A statistical survey based on NCAA championships and rankings
placed the SEC first among conferences in its men’s sports and
second in women’s sports.
