TUSCALOOSA, Ala.—- Former University of Alabama linebacker Jimmy Johns’ first court appearance is set for August 12th at 9 a.m. before District Court Judge Joel Chandler.

Johns’ attorneys requested the hearing last Thursday. Attorney Mary Turner confirmed the court date Tuesday.

Johns faces five counts of Distribution of a Controlled Substance and one count of Possession of Controlled Substance.

Investigators claimed Mississippi’s former Mr. Football sold a total of 11 grams during five different undercover buys two weeks ago.

Johns has been dismissed from the UA football team and he withdraw from school and is living with his family in Mississippi.

Johns had played at running back the last three seasons for the Crimson Tide and was expected to start at linebacker during his upcoming senior season.
