What a great election day across central Alabama

Despite some morning low clouds, our weather for Election Day 2008 could hardly had been nicer.  And there is more good stuff coming up. This evening will be clear for last minute voters, and it will continue to be very comfortable.  Temperatures will be in the range of 54 to 58 by 7 pm.  Overnight will be mainly clear and cool…some low clouds may form again late tonight, like last night, but I do not expect the coverage to be as significant as last night.  A bank of low clouds moved in from Georgia last night, and that does not look likely tonight.
Tomorrow will be another really beautiful day with sunshine and temperatures heading to the middle and upper 70’s.  And dry weather will continue tomorrow night with mainly clear skies.
I do not look for much change on Thursday, but there will be a gradual increase in cloudiness during the afternoon ahead of a cold front.  Thursday evening will likely be dry, then a few showers may move in overnight, and there will be some showers on Friday.  There could also be a thunderstorm or two, but right now, there does not appear to be a high probability of severe weather.
The weekend will be dry and cooler with ample sunshine.
The long-range models show a strong storm arriving next Tuesday, and that could mean not only showers, but perhaps a chance of severe weather.
