Wet weather headed our way

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Clouds will continue to thicken up across the area today with mild temperatures in the mid 70s.  There could be a few showers this afternoon, especially in the western counties.  Rain and thunderstorms will really move in after midnight tonight and last through Friday night.  Heavy rain with amounts ranging from 1”-2” expected, gusty winds, and perhaps an isolated tornado are all possible with this storm system.  The main threat for a tornado appears to really be confined to south Alabama where instability will be a bit higher.  The rain will taper off Friday evening, however lingering showers are still possible for high school foot ball games; especially east Alabama.  The rain will move out just in time for the weekend.  Some clouds may linger for awhile on Saturday with temperatures in the 60s but Sunday looks great; sunny skies and a high of 70.
