We have one more batch of rain to get through then it will be like November in October.

Since September 1st, 16.42 inches of rain has fallen in Birmingham.  That is a whopping 10.92” above average for that 6-week period.  For the year so far we have received 58.08” of rain, and that is nearly 15 inches above average.  Remember the drought days?  Well El Nino is certainly helping to erase those parched times.  This is not all because of El Nino, but that ocean current is certainly playing a role.  Well we have 1 more system to get through and it arrives Thursday.  There will be a few sprinkles overnight, then I expect a few showers on Thursday as a cold front comes through.  There will not be a tremendous amount of rain, but most places will get some.  On average there will probably be 1-2 hours of rain with amounts of about two-tenths of an inch.
Behind the front Thursday night, the north wind will blow and begin ushering in the cooler air.  Temperatures will fall to the low 50’s Thursday night and only rise to near 60 on Friday.  Then we will see the 40’s each night beyond that through Monday night.  Saturday will be a brisk and chilly day with quite a few clouds, then Sunday and Monday will be sunny.
