Warmest weather of 2009 so far.

We will be heating up the next few days with temperatures reaching the low 90’s at least 1 if not 2 days.  And through tomorrow I am not looking for much in the way of thunderstorm activity.  A few storms popped today in Cleburne and Tallapoosa counties, and they may develop westward into Clay county at some point, but the vast majority of the area will remain rainfree.  Tomorrow may bring a slightly higher chance of an afternoon thunderstorm, but again most spots will likely stay dry.
Later this week, the ribbon of westerlies in the upper atmosphere will dip southward, and whenever the air near the ground is this warm and moist, it takes only a little agitation from the jet stream to make things pop.  So I am looking for increased rain chances Wednesday through at least Friday, and probably through the weekend.  That will mean at least scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours.
