Thunderstorms settling down for now.

The once powerful band of thunderstorms that crossed southern sections of the Birmingham metro area earlier this afternoon has weakened now, and is just a broken band of light to moderate rain showers extending from Cullman to southern Talladega county. There are still a few heavy storms further south from southern Pickens county to Troy, and a few of these may arrivie in our southwestern counties this evening.  Overall rain coverage will not be that high this evening.
I think spotty coverage of a few showers and isolated thundershowers will be with us overnight, then there will be a large increase in coverage after about 9 am in the morning Wednesday as the daily cycle continues.  Thursday will be about the same, then drying starts on Friday, and the weekend looks nice!
