Temperatures will again flirt with freezing tonight, and scattered frost is possible.
Winds will diminish very quickly this evening, and that means there will be a much wider spread in low temperatures late tonight. Haleyville got to 31 last night, Birmingham made it to 34, and Montgomery got down to 36. Thats only 5 degrees difference, and I really expect a much larger spread tonight. Also with less wind, the valley locations will tend to be the coldest spots tonight as opposed to the ridge tops like last night. That being the case, I would expect at least patchy frost tonight, even in areas that don’t quite get down to freezing.
A nice warming trend commences Wednesday with sunshine and afternoon temperatures rising to the upper 60’s. However I need to point out there will be an increasing southwest wind, and that will take some of the warmer feel out of the air.
Thursday will be another windy day, with a bit more cloud cover, but probably no rain. However the approach of the next cold front will cause some thunderstorms later Thursday night into Good Friday.
The first part of the Easter weekend will be dry, but more showers and thunderstorms could arrive Easter Sunday afternoon or night.
