Still looks like wet weather for much of the weekend.

The weather focus over the next few days will be on a very slow moving cold front currently lined up from Michigan to Texas.  Since we are still well east of the system, most of us will have rainfree conditions tonight.  And it actually will feel like summertime with temperatures near 80 this evening and only falling down to about 70 for overnight lows. And tomorrow will be another very warm day with highs between 85 and 88.  Ahead of the front the wind will increase tomorrow, and there may be enough lift in the afternoon for a few scattered thunderstorms, especially over west Alabama.
The real action begins tomorrow night when showers and thunderstorms will become more numerous, and the chance of rain will climb to nearly 100%.  Saturday looks wet as well with occasional showers and thunderstorms.
Given the strength of the wind fields in the upper atmosphere with this feature, there is a chance some of the storms could feature strong wind gusts.  And there certainly will be some periods of heavy rainfall.
Since the front is moving so slowly, some showers could well linger on Sunday.
