Still looks like a wet Saturday

After a week featuring the terrible flooding some of us have experienced, any talk of rain is unwelcome.  And we do have rain in the forecast for Saturday.  It will be an umbrella kind of day with most of the rain falling between 8 am and 2 pm in Tuscaloosa, between 9 am and 3 pm in Birmingham, and between 10 am and 5 pm in Anniston.  Rainfall totals will average between 1/4 and 1/2 inch, so it should not really worsen the river flooding situation.
Drier, colder air returns Saturday night, with Sunday featuring dry colder conditions with some clearing and highs in the upper 40’s.
Monday will be dry and chilly, then a shot of somewhat colder air arrives Tuesday with a shower of rain or snow possible and highs in the 40’s.
A shot of really cold air arrives Wednesday night with Thursday and Friday being the coldest days so far this season with highs in the 30’s and lows at least for Thursday night, down in the teens.  As the cold air arrives, there is a chance of a period of light freezing precipitation or snow on Thursday.  It is way too early to speculate if there is a chance of any accumulation with that.
