Still hot

Not much change in our temperatures for this afternoon with highs in the mid 90s and of course the heat index ranging form 100-105.  The upper level ride of high pressure that has kept the area so dry and hot has shifted west.  This should translate into at least the threat of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours.  We will also have to keep an eye on any MCS (mesoscale convective systems) or clusters of strong to severe thunderstorms that develop to our north.  With upper level winds now out of the north and northwest, these systems could very well move into Alabama.  Tempeatures do look to back off a bit toward the end of the week.
