Status quo for now, but better rain chances down the road.
The 4th of July is rapidly approaching, and right now the weather is pretty nice here in the deep south. I still expect chances down the road, but I think the most significant change will wait until after Independence Day.
Dry weather will stay with us tonight and tomorrow. In fact even the humidity levels dropped a little, so its not that unbearable outside. This evening will be pleasantly warm, and tomorrow will be another unusually sunny day for this time of year with only minimal cumulus cloud development. Highs will again be in the lower 90’s. Mainly clear skies will prevail tomorrow night, and then we get into our nation’s birthday celebration on Saturday. For picnics or swimming pool outings, I think Saturday will be okay with partly cloudy skies and only a slim chance of an afternoon thundershower. There is a slight chance of a thundershower as well Saturday evening, but I think most of the fireworks will be man-made with partly cloudy skies dominating.
Beyond Saturday, it gets dicier. Moisture values will increase and a front will inch closer to us from the north. That will likely mean at least scattered thunderstorms Sunday and Monday, with most of the action coming during the afternoon and evening hours.
Indications are that a trend toward drier, warmer weather will develop later next week.
