Signs of change in the weather.
Although you would not know it when stepping outside today, we are beginning to see signs of some change in our weather this week. The large dome of high pressure responsible for the heat is backing down little by little. We know this because t’storms are moving a little closer to the state line today. Also storms are forming to our north in Tennessee. These have little chance of reaching hear as they push into the high. This gradual change will continue all week long. Highs will back down into low 90’s plus and chances will improve. If the high backs off enough-I think it will, the northwest flow aloft could mean several rounds of strong t’storms similar to what we had week before last. The MCS’s (meso-scale convective systems) are very difficult to forecast. We almost have to wait for them to form to know for sure we could see one. This COULD bring widespread rain and severe storms at some point…but it’s hard to say exactly when.
