Severe weather update: thunderstorm watch in Birmingham; stronger storms to south

A thunderstorm warning is in effect for the Birmingham and central Alabama area.  Tornado Watch remains in place for south Alabama with strong storms reported in the Troy / Dothan areas.  Clearing expected by noon but possible redevelopment later in the afternoon when the cold front passes through the state.
