Scattered thunderstorms in Mississippi moving eastward ahead of a cold front.

Gloomy weather has been the rule the past 3 days.  A cold front arriving during the next 10 hours has a chance to shake things up a bit, and that may help to give us a little more sunshine Wednesday afternoon and also on Thursday.  In the meantime, there will be a few showers and thunderstorms overnight, with a few locally heavy downpours, some lightning strikes, and a few wind gusts. Rainfall totals will probably average .10” to .30” .
The showers will wind down Wednesday morning, and there may be a little sunshine for the afternoon.  I had expected Thursday to be mainly rainfree.  We will stick with that for now, though our new computer model runs suggest a few showers could develop Thursday afternoon.
The next significant front will arrive Friday night and Saturday, and that will mean more showers and thunderstorms.
