Rain still coming…may be a little slower to end.

Temperatures fell like a rock as expected with the arrival of sunset, and we find ourselves with temperatures ranging from the upper 20’s to low 30’s across central Alabama with 28 the lowest number being reported by the official locations, that being Gadsden.  A light south to southeast wind is starting to blow now across the western third of the area, and that light breeze, though adding an extra chill to the air, will stabilize the temperature, and so it is not likely to fall much more.  Still I could see a few spots in the east getting down to the middle 20’s.
Wednesday will be a nice day with ample sunshine and temperatures rebounding to near 60.  Some clouds will show up after about 2 pm, but that will not ruin the overall nice “feel” to the day.
There is some evidence the front that will cause our next rain is moving a little slower now, and so the rain may hold off until about daybreak Thursday.  And that poses the possibility that the rain could linger a little longer and last through much of Thursday afternoon.  Actually 1 model is even suggesting that moisture in the form of clouds and maybe a little spotty light rain could last into Friday over East-Central Alabama, and that is something we will have to address in our forecasts issued during Wednesday.
