Quiet weather for now, but it will not be lasting very long.
In the wake of the cold front that brought the isolated severe weather on Friday, north winds are transporting cooler, more stable air to us, and as a result, there are no echoes on the radar tonight. With damp air near the ground and with a rather thick stratus deck of clouds developing, there could be some patchy fog and drizzle.
Sunday looks okay with the clouds probably breaking up a bit. I cannot rule out a little drizzle in the morning and maybe a brief shower in the afternoon, but I am not looking for anything significant.
Monday will be a different story. Deep moisture will return again, and as a warm front lifts northward toward us, some rain and scattered thunderstorms will develop, and just about all sections of central Alabama will get some rain.
The active pattern continues Tuesday and Wednesday, with some scattered thundershowers. Then what looks like a powerful cold front will arrive Thursday with thunderstorms, and some of those could be strong. Behind that front, a shot of cooler air moves in for Friday through Saturday period.
