One more really cold night and early morning

Its another cold night across central Alabama, though on average, it is not quite as cold as Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. There will be more of a range in low temperatures Thursday morning than we have seen the past few cold mornings.  In fact in some of the urban areas, it may not fall below 35 or so, whereas the cold, sheltered valley areas could easily dip into the upper 20’s briefly.  Another facet of the cold overnight period will be frost formation.  The dewpoint, or frostpoint if you prefer is running higher right now than the past few nights, and that means frost can form readily.  So I would expect it to be at least as widespread as it was Wednesday morning and it may actually be more common and perhaps somewhat thicker as well.
Okay enough of the cold weather.  Temperatures will recover quickly Thursday.  It will be another brightly sunny day, and with the core of the cold air east of us , look for temperatures above 60 by lunchtime, and it will approach 70 for the afternoon high.
Beyond that each day from Friday, Halloween through Election Day will feature highs at least in the low 70’s, and the weather during that entire period looks good.
