Not nearly as active today
After an extremely active day on Wednesday, the radar is much quieter today, and the majority of the viewing area will be rainfree tonight. That is not to say there is nothing going on. NBC-13HD doppler radar is showing a few heavy downpours in Tuscaloosa and Bibb counties. An occasional lightning bolt is occurring along with an intermittent storm marker indicating some hail. These showers are moving slowly southeastward, and will dissipate by around 8 o’clock or so. The rest of the night will be rather steamy with temperatures only getting down to about 68.
The very warm, humid weather will continue tomorrow with lots of stratus and some fog to start the day, then we will break out to partially sunny skies. Like today the chance of rain is certainly not zero and a couple of thundershowers may pop up in the afternoon.
Over the weekend, we will deal with a front inching our way from the north. That will lead to a reduction in temperatures, and in fact we could cool off quite a bit by early nexweek. It also means an increase in rain chances with a few scattered thundershowers likely Saturday afternoon and night, and some more thunderstorms likely on Sunday.
