No relief just yet

Temperatures will remain hot again this afternoon with afternoon highs in the mid 90s and the heat index ranging from 100-105.  The high pressure ridge that has been responsible for the heat will shift a bit to the west over the next couple of days.  This should help to bring temperatures down a couple degrees and at least allow for a better chance for thunderstorms in the area too.
