More heat this weekend

It has been another hot day across the south.  The heat index was up to 101 in Birmingham shortly after 3pm.  More hot weather is expected Saturday with a high of 97 and the heat index could top out around 104.  Sunday will still be hot with a high around 95.  Models continue to show the upper ridge responsible for the heat backing off early next week.  I am doubting this scenario.  I am still forecasting low 90’s Tuesday and Wednesday, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we have to up those numbers.  Typically the models back off these ridges too fast..so don’t be surprised if you see us up these numbers in future forecasts!
