Lonely t’Storm aiming for Lamar and Pickens counties

While we have enjoyed dry, tranquil weather across central Alabama this evening, a stout line of thunderstorms has pushed across northern Mississippi.  That line will move into Lamar and Pickens counties shortly.  The line is still quite strong, though a slow weakening trend is noted.  I certainly expect it to survive through those westermost counties.  Could there be a thundershower or shower as far east as Tuscaloosa and Birmingham ? There could be.  Right now I would rate that about a 30% chance in Tuscaloosa and a 10% chance in Birmingham.  At some point over the next 3 hours or so, these storms will cease to exist.
Higher humidity will be noted on Wednesday, and generally humid conditions will then prevail through the weekend.  I think only a few stray thundershowers will occur over the area west of I-65 Wednesday afternoon, then a more general chance of thunderstorms will occur from Thursday through Sunday.  No day is likely to be a washout.  But no day is expected to be entirely dry either.  It will be a day-to-day challenge to forecast rain chances for the Region’s Charity Classic.
