Isolated strong storms again today.
Isolated heavy downpours, some with thunder and lightning, formed early today, wetting some neighborhoods between 7 and 11 am. That is a little unusual this time of year, but it does happen. I am currently looking at a radar scope showing one noteworthy thunderstorm over east Tuscaloosa county and it is moving northwestward. Its causing torrential downpours and intense, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. While there are a few other showers dotting the landscape, this is certainly the main player. It and any other thunderstorms that form near it will likely affect parts of Tuscaloosa, Fayette, Walker and Jefferson counties. Overall there will be a weakening trend after 7:30pm.
Tomorrow will again bring a few scattered thunderstorms, then a cold front arrives Thursday causing storms over a broader area, and also storms that could be stronger with gusty winds and some hail.
Just a chance of a lingering shower Friday, before it dries out for most of the weekend.
