Great weather to continue for a few more days, followed by rain next week.
The short term part of the forecast, the part from tonight through Saturday, continues straightforward with dry, clear conditions. Nights will remain chilly. The combination of slightly lower daytime temperatures and a brisk breeze will serve to make Thursday a little cooler than Wednesday, but by Saturday, temperatures will be back up to at least 70. Moisture will increase Sunday with increasing cloudiness as the Gulf of Mexico opens up. And then rain looks likely starting Sunday night or Monday and probably lasting at times into Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.
The new tropical storm Ida could play a role in how much rain we get as the remnants of the system will be in the southern Gulf eartly next week. The storm will make landfall in Nicaraqua early Thursday and will be travelling over rocky terrain for a couple of days. There is a chance that trip could rip the storm apart. But assuming it holds together at all, it may add to the amount of rain we get into the middle of next week.
