Everything still a big “GO” for a great weekend.
Its been a week of fantastic weather with sunny, pleasant days and clear, chilly nights. And this go-round, the great weather will continue for the weekend. Whatsmore, there will be a warming trend. We get the weekend started with fine weather for the high school games as skies will be clear, and temperatures will be mainly in the low 50’s. Saturday will be sunny and really nice with afternoon temperartures getting to the low 70’s. Saturday night will be clear and cool, though it will not be quite as chilly as tonight will be. Sunday will be just as nice as Saturday, and it will be warmer with highs in the middle to upper 70’s.
The forecast gets much more complicated early next week. There will be a front approaching from the northwest at the same time Ida will be getting closer from a position in the Gulf of Mexico.
How strong Ida will be at that time remains in doubt. But it will get rather windy here, because of the interaction of Ida and a strong high pressure area to the north. If some of Ida’s moisture gets sucked up ahead of the front, then we will have a period of rain starting late Monday or Monday night and lasting into Tuesday. If Ida’s moisture stays mostly south of us, we might just get a few showers.
