Cool spell for the middle of April.
First off, let me say how much I enjoyed my visit to Vestavia Cahaba Heights Elementary School. I spoke to the first grade classes, and was very impressed by the students, their attentiveness and their great questions. My thanks to Brannon Aaron, who invited me, and to all the teachers, who obviously do a great job! They also gave me a delicious cookie, that we play to show on the air at 5 pm today. So thanks again everyone; I really enjoyed it!
Weatherwise, things have settled down for a few days, and there won’t be any more rain or storms through at least Friday. Over the weekend, there will be an increase in moisture. That could lead to a few showers as early as Saturday, though I do think showers and thunderstorms are more likely on Sunday. Depending how that system tracks, it could either be just rain, or it could be rain transitioning to a severe weather threat.
In the meantime it will be cool for the middle part of April. Tonight’s lows will range from 40 in Haleyville to 44 in Calera. Highs tomorrow will generally be in the 64 to 69 range.
And it will be just a little warmer on Thursday and Friday.
Clouds hung in stubbornly today, and will only clear out slowly tonight. But I am confident there will be more sunshine the next 3 days.
