Cold air surging southward from Tennessee.
Winds are picking up across central Alabama, and that trend will continue. Friday will be a windy day with sustained winds of 15 mph and some gusts to over 20 mph. And those winds will be tapping much colder air now over Kentucky and driving it southward. Its currently 32 degrees in Louisville, and by morning we will be near freezing. Friday will be one of those days that the temperature just does not rise much with highs in the middle 40’s. We will have bright sunshine all day, but it just won’t make much of a difference. And everything is still on schedule to bring the coldest night of the season so far to us Friday night with lows in the low 20’s in Birmingham and in the middle to upper teens across the highway 278 corridor.
This last weekend before Thanksgiving (thats hard to believe!) will be relatively un-eventful weatherwise. Both days will be sunny and there will be a trend toward more comfortable afternoons with highs approaching the middle 50’s on Saturday and upper 50’s on Sunday.
