Cold air settling in for the weekend with first frost of the season likely Monday morning.

Last night’s rain came our way because of a strong cold front, and behind the front the north wind started to blow, and it continues to usher in much colder air.  Temperatures will fall to near 40 tonight, only recover to the middle 50’s tomorrow and sink down to the upper 30’s tomorrow night.  Now there could be a light touch of front in some of the lowest valleys late tomorrow night and Sunday morning, but the combination of lingering clouds, and a light breeze will work against that.  Frost is more likely Monday morning as skies will have cleared out, and the wind will go calm.  There is a chance that could effectively end the growing season in some areas.
Although most of the atmopshere has dried out, there continues to be a layer of moisture, and thats the reason for the clouds.  The clouds will hold in there tonight, and tomorrow and in fact a little disturbance moving through our skies tomorrow may tickle the cloud deck enough to cause a few rain drops to fall, especially during the afternoon.
Sunshine will return Sunday and Monday will be a bright and sunny day.  Next chance of signficant rain will be next Thursday into Friday.
