Can you believe how nice it is?  Well we have a few more great days coming up.

Incredibly nice autumn weather continues as a sprawling high pressure area moves by to our north.  Tonight will be crystal clear and cold with temperatures falling quickly this evening, and reaching lows of 36 to 41 across the area with a few spots along the highway 278 corridor probably getting down to the freezing mark.  The air is mighty dry, but there will be some scattered frost.  Tomorrow and Saturday will be two more spectacular days with brilliant sunshine and a very slight warming trend with highs near 70 tomorrow and about 72 on Saturday.  The weather for the high school football games Friday evening and for the college games on Saturday will be just great.
The high pressure area will shift eastward the next few days and that will lead to a southerly flow , and that in turn will mean moisture increasing.  By Sunday we may see a slight increase in cloud cover, but I now expect Sunday to be another nice day.
Meanwhile weakening Tropical Storm Ida continues to drench Nicaraqua in Central America.  The remnants of the storm will emerge in the southern Gulf of Mexico by early next week.  This will occur as a cold front approaches from the west.  The front will serve to draw up some of the moisture from Ida and from the Gulf, and that will lead to periods of rain for central Alabama Monday and Tuesday.  It appears that the actual center of Ida will stay south of our coastline, so I am not expecting any wind issues.
