Break in the weather pattern right around the corner.

Last night and this morning’s rain underperformed, and that is a good thing.  Rainfall totals were generally under an inch, and in fact in most areas amounts were 1/2 inch or less. Obviously this is good news, since the ground is saturated.  Looking forward, tonight will feature low clouds, some fog and drizzle, but probably no measurable rainfall.
Tomorrow will bring measurable rain as a cold front swings in from the northwest.  I don’t expect it to rain all day, but just about all reas will see some rain for a few hours.  There could be some thunder and lightning as well.
Behind the front tomorrrow night, northerly winds will bring a completely different air mass our way, and will set the stage for several days of mainly dry conditions with a noticeable drop in nighttime temperatures.  I am forecast 4 nights in a row with low temperatures in the 40’s, with the coldest night probably being Saturday night, when its not out of the question a few select spots could reach the upper 30’s.
Most of that period will be dry, though when the core of the coldest air aloft comes overhead Saturday, it will generate some clouds, and perhaps a few passing sprinkles.
