A little chance to dry out some, before the next significant rains move in.

Not much rain on radar today across central Alabama, and I expect only a few isolated showers tonight, and most of those will be restricted to the evening hours.  Look for some low clouds and fog to form late tonight.  I think there may be a slight increase in the action on Friday with a few scattered thundershowers during the afternoon and nighttime hours.  But I expect Saturday to be the day of most action as a cold front comes our way.  Showers and thunderstorms are likely, and there might be enough rain to cause some localized flooding given the very wet conditions already in place.  As for any severe threat, there will be increasing winds aloft on Saturday, but the low-level flow will be very weak.  That combined with moderate instability probably means there could be a few strong to marginally severe storms, but a widespread severe outbreak does not appear likely.
Most of the action will be gone on Sunday, and beyond that a strong cold front will bring a shot of cooler and less humid air in for next week, starting Tuesday.
