A break in the humidity!
Just as we thought, the large ridge of high pressure has back off a bit today. However, what was not expected is the drier air now pushing in from the east. Dew points were dropping this hour to our east in the low 60’s. This drier air will overspread the region tonight. While this means that it will not be as muggy, it may actually be hotter in some areas. Drier air heats a cools more efficiently-so the over night lows will be a few degrees lower, and the afternoon highs could a few degrees higher. I still think rain chances will improve a bit heading toward the weekend, but obviously taking a little longer due to the drier air. Highs should be back near 90 by Sunday.
