Flash flooding continues to be an issue across much of the area; just a reminder “TURN AROUND, DON"T DROWN!!“

So where will the torrential rains hit today?
There is really no definitive end in sight to this soggy weather pattern. Although the low pressure area that has had central Alabama in its grip for days will finally move away, there is no sign of all the moisture leaving.
Flash flood watch
Flood warning continues for the Cahaba River and a flash flood watch in effect for the entire area.

Torrential thunderstorms cause flooding in the Birmingham metro area.
The culprit remains that stubborn low pressure area to our west. It may drift further away the next several days, but the moisture feed will continue, meaning more showers and thunderstorms.
Storms not as robust or ar widespread today.
Overall though, the very moist weather pattern continues, and at least a chance of thundershowers will persist for several more days.

Don’t expect any big changes anytime soon.
Moist air remains the rule across much of the southeastern states, and that means more showers and thunderstorms the next few days at least.
Active weather pattern continues unabated. No big changes likely for days.
With a little more sunshine, the air became a little more unstable today, and that resulted in slightly more robust storms. There were even a few funnel clouds spotted, and there may have been a very brief weak tornado touchdown in Chilton county.
Unconfirmed tornado touchdown
A few strong thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and early evening.

Umbrellas needed for forseeable future.
Tropical humidity will continue to dominate the weather scene across central Alabama for several more days, and a stalled-out low pressure area to our west will provide just enough lift to set off additional showers.
Weather pattern continues largely unchanged, and that means more showers.
Atmosphere remains very moist, maintaining the potential for locally heavy downpours. Sunshine won’t be non-existent, but will continue to be at a premium for several more days.
Grey and damp
It looks as if we will be stuck in the current weather pattern for several more days.
September 14, 2009
Moist weather pattern to continue.
Although this pattern does not favor steady rainfall, a slow moving low pressure to our west will continue to spread showers our way for the next several days.
Damp weather to continue the rest of the week with at least scattered showers.
Rain chances will stay above average next few days with daytime high temperatures remaining below average. Could be a slight drying trend over weekend, but that is not certain.
Stubborn weather
Plenty of clouds and humidity along with showers will plaugue the area much of this week.
