Is it Just Me or is My Son Brilliant?

Ok, I know all moms think their children are little Einsteins, right?  But please would you experienced moms out there give me some feedback…(and please be nice   My 15 month old son, who’s still not speaking, by the way, just did something I think is really smart.  Usually when he’s in need of a diaper change (you know, number 2), I’ll notice that odor and say, “Are you poopy?“  He’s learned to go and get a diaper when I ask the question.  Well today he actually dirtied his diaper and without prompting, went and got a diaper and took it to his daddy.  I think that’s brilliant.  What do you think?  Does this mean he’s ready for potty training?  That would be great!  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
