An Early Start to My Regular New Year’s Resolution
So every year I have the same New Year’s resolution…..the same one millions of other women probably make every year…the most popular one…the one most often broken before the month of January has even come to a close….TO GET BACK INTO SHAPE! I say “back into shape” because once not so long ago, I was in pretty good shape. I ran, not because I enjoyed even one second of it…but because I got talked into running the Peachtree 10K in Atlanta and got hooked on the racing. So the actual running in between the races was just something that had to be done. Anyway, that seemed to go by the wayside when I started trying to have a baby years ago. What was the point of going through all that effort when you were actively trying to gain about 40 lbs and stretch your waistline and many other lines beyond your wildest imagination?
So here I am years later, waaaaayyyyy out of shape and ready to put my body back to where it was. So what’s the best plan? Anyone have any suggestions for a busy working mom of an active 17 month old? Brooke Smith has graciously volunteered her couch to 10K training schedule which I have committed to trying. I’ve also signed up for a 5K in early November to keep me honest and on track. If any of you all have found a great work out method or routine please let me know. I’ll keep you posted of my progress, or lack there of, as I move forward and off the couch!
