Enterprise native and University of Alabama graduate Jenny Fine has spent years studying long-forgotten photo techniques, and the result is an emotional body of work unlike any other. Fine draws her inspiration from the stories her grandmother told her as a child, and her photographs explore the role that those memories play in her own identity.

Although Fine’s wet-plate collodion and mixed media photography is highly personal and introspective, it none the less beckons the viewer to examine the fragility of their own memories. The archaic style of Fine’s images further the idea that time turns all memories into personal mythology, and the viewer is left pondering the effect time has wrought on their own view of the past.

Fine’s work is affordable and accessable, and will no doubt increase in value as she continues to exhibit and perfect her craft.
