Wine Pairing with Pleasure Is All Wine
Pleasure is All Wine
Pair wine perfectly at your next meal.Chateau Montelena Chardonnay – 2006 - $41 (the same wine different vintage that won top ratings in France over all the French Chardonnay’s the story is depicted in the movie Bottle Shock which is worth seeing.) This particular Chardonnay was an OMG moment for me as the wine is very complex, well balanced and has lovely layers of tropical fruit as well as a lovely crisp citrus finish lightly oaked and a milky mouth feel. Great wine to pair with any dish that has a cheesy, buttery or cream sauce. White fish, poultry, pork, veal or pasta would work splendidly. By the way although this wine is certainly not inexpensive it delivers way more than the price.
Tori Mor – Deux Verres Reserve Pinot Noir – 2004 - $60
This is a single vineyard wine hence the price but I you can afford it worth every penny. This wine has beautifully aromas of cherries and spices with a dash of earthiness. On the palate the cherries and cranberries burst with flavors and finishes with a wonderful level of acidity and velvety tannins. A perfect wine to enjoy with grilled or baked salmon. Pork with a wine cherry sauce
Cyrus 2004 – Red Blend - $53
This beautiful wine is produced by Alexander Valley Vineyards in Sonoma a family owned winery (Wetzel Family). This wine is produced in the traditional Bordeaux, France style and again delivers so much more than its price. We love this wine because of the value and quality. A well balanced fairly big wine with layers and layers of flavors. On the palate there is plenty of dark fruit cherries, plums and chocolate with a hint of leather and a nice layer of earthiness all beautifully integrated and a long finish which is key to a good wine. Pair this wine with any meat dish, roast beef au jus, rack of lamb, venison made any way and enjoy.
Paraduxx 2006 – Red Blend - $50
Mostly zinfandel this is another wine that over delivers. It has full fruit flavors that are perfectly in balance with a hint of spiciness making it a must paired with barbecue or any spicy grilled foods. You can also enjoy this wine with any meaty dish that has a hint of spice to it.
