Heart Gallery Alabama
Days like today remind me of why I love my job so much. I think I was meant to be in broadcasting for a reason…and that’s to spread the word about wonderful organizations making a difference…especially those making a difference in the lives of children. Today I had the pleasure of interviewing Michelle Bearman-Wolnek, the executive director of Heart Gallery Alabama. Until I booked the interview I was not familiar with Heart Gallery. The main goal of HEART GALLERY ALABAMA is to raise adoption awareness. Of the 6,000 children currently in Alabama’s foster care system, 600 are waiting for a forever family. Many of these children have been neglected, abused, or abandoned. Some have special needs. They all long for a family…and deserve one. The organization recruits professional photographers to take meaningful and unique portraits of Alabama’s foster children waiting on homes. The portraits are on display in a variety of venues where prospective adoptive parents can learn more about these special children. The goal is for each child to find his or her “Forever Family.“ If you are interested in helping…all you need to do is attend a fun event and the money raised goes to help these wonderful children.
The event is Fotos, Frames & Fun - a silent auction benefitting Heart Gallery Alabama.
