Thursday, September 10
Jazz Night With Shaun Pezant**
7:30 p.m.
$10/$8 for Garden Members
Shaun Pezant began playing piano when he was nine and is now an established composer, arranger and record producer.  He was recently commissioned to compose music to represent the cities of Birmingham and Montgomery, and he composed the soundtrack for Thornton Dial, which won best documentary, short subject at the San Francisco Film Festival.  His trio, consisting of bassist Richard Moteno and vocalist Elnora Spencer,  will be entertaining you with the beats that are sure to put you on your feet and make your work week worries disappear.

“Salsa in the Gardens”**
2:00 – 6:00 P.M.
$12/$10 for Garden Members
Latin Soul Productions dj Carlos Otalora will be playing the finest in Latin dance rhythms that are guaranteed to move your feet.  This popular dance party will feature lessons and dance time throughout the day.  Food and flavored teas will be available for purchase.  The day will end with a Pinata Party, so bring the kids and make a day out of it!  Limited table reservations will be allowed outside the pavilion - $20 per table.

“Detours, Dead Ends and Missed Exits on the Interstate of Life”**

What did people do before they had a GPS? They got lost! Join storyteller Dolores Hydock for these lighthearted stories of travels gone awry. You’ll meet a couple who navigate a lovers’ spat along with the interstate system, a woman whose good Southern manners sweep her away on an unexpected adventure, and other brave souls who dodge the potholes of life to find their way home in surprising ways.

Kids’/Family Fishing Day

Bring the kids and grandkids out to try their hand at “catching the big one” in our 6-acre lake.  Trophies and cash awards for most fish and largest fish.  Preregistration required.  Free to Garden Members
