Voters React To Final 2008 Presidential Debate

BIRMINGHAM, Ala—Now that all the debates are over for the 2008 Presidential Campaign, what do voters think about what’s been said?

Alabamians gathered at home, in bars, and at debate watch parties to see Senators Barack Obama and John McCain square off for one last time.

Birmingham area voters seemed to think this debate featured the most substance and more confrontations between the two candidates.

But the debate didn’t seem to sway committed voters.

McCain supporter Trish Hoover said, “McCain talked about what he was going to do.  He’s not raising taxes.  He basically refuted a lot of comments you’ve heard the Obama campaign make.  I think he stood on solid ground, he has some weak moments but he had a lot of strong moments.”

“Of course I’m going to say he’s winning because I love him and I just want someone who’s smarter than me to be the President of the United States, and more educated, more well-spoken and can meet with these world leaders and have respect,” Obama voter Marilyn Slater said.

The opinions that really matter are those of independent voters.

We’ll find out what they think on November 4th.

I find it funny that John McCain berates Obama about raising taxes on large corporations and the rich, yet McCain wants to tax our company-paid health insurance which is a tax increase on everyone!  We can’t afford McCain!
