Visionary in Shelby County Gets Catholic Leadership Attention

The Catholic Dioceses released a statement Wednesday outlining their position on the self proclaimed visionary Marija Lunetti.

The native of Medjugorje, Yugoslavia has made another trip to the Caritas facility in North Shelby County.  Lunetti says she receives visions from the Virgin Mary daily.  The Caritas facility in Shelby County was built to promote Lunetti’s visions.  She has made many visits to the field next to the facility over the years and thousands of people come to experience her visions.

Bishop Raymond J. Boland of the Catholic Dioceses of Birmingham released this statement.  “Caritas” has absolutely no connection with the Diocese of Birmingham….  To the best of my knowledge those associated with “Caritas” are Catholics in good standing with the Church and the leader of “Caritas,” Mr. Terry Colafrancesco, has indicated that he is open and willing to accept the ultimate judgment of the Holy See relative to the authenticity of the alleged visions at Medjugorje.“
