Police in Portland, Oregon are looking for four men accused of attacking random people and stealing whatever they could.
A wild morning.
In less than an hour and a half, five attacks.
The first 3:54AM. At Northeast 33rd and Columbia, a Troutdale man stopped to check on this red pickup parked, doors open in the middle of the road.
The victim’s daugther says “the two passengers jumped out and started throwing beer cans and they kicked the back of the car.“
In an instant, this would be good samaritan was under attack. With a case of beer, his daughter says, one of the men shattered the driver’s side window.
The victim’s daughter says “he got some minor scrapes on his face from the glass breaking and shattering all over the car. Actually some in his ear, glass all in his hair.“
Six minutes later, a bloody faced man entered the Shell on North Interstate.
Victim number two, with a full beer can, he’d been hit in the head.
Police say the suspects were just getting started.
Cathe Kent of the Portland Police Bureau says “looking like they were just picking random victims and thought they were having a good time doing it.“
From there it was on to North Olin Avenue.
A paper delivery man, punched in the face four times.
Then to the 6100 block of Lombard.
A pedestrian kicked to the ground, his cell phone stolen.
Then, to the Arco on Northeast MLK.
Surveillance video shows the clerk threatened with a baseball bat for a carton of cigarettes.
Cathe Kent says “they got here ten minutes before my shift and started tearing the store up.“
