He was run over by a car and left for dead in the keys.
But against all odds a ten-foot crocodile not only survived the accident but lived through hours of reconstructive surgery at the Miami Metrozoo.
Nearly 48 hours following precedent-setting surgery to repair a shattered and disfigured skull, the American crocodile affectionately named “Robocroc” continues to amaze officials at Miami Metrozoo as he recovers in a secluded area of the park.
Going against all odds, the 10 foot reptile has not only survived what many would consider non-survivable injuries when he was run over by a car in the Florida Keys back in December of 2008, he has also survived extensive reconstructive surgery that used 4 steel plates and 41 screws to rebuild his shattered skull.
Though his prognosis is still extremely guarded with odds stacked heavily against him, each day this remarkable animal lives brings officials an extra glimmer of hope that he may miracualously recover from this overwhelming trauma.

Why, in an economy when MANY HUMAN Americans can not afford to go to the doctor and Millions are uninsured, would money be wasted to patch up a crocodile ? Or maybe the Croc had insurance thru OBAMAs healthcare? I guess that is why America is so screwed up, WE MUST GET PRIORITIES RIGHT!!! If the croc had been an uninsured human, he would be lucky to even get taken to a hospital. WAKE UP!!!
