Video: Greene Co. sheriff defying gambling task force

EUTAW, Ala.—- Greene County Sheriff Ison Thomas said Thomas he was prepared to stop Governor Bob Riley’s Illegal Gambling Task Force from entering Greenetrack.

Thomas told NBC13HD that he had the authority to keep state troopers from raiding the electronic bingo facility, but not to arrest them.

Task force Commander John Tyson has asked Greenetrack to cease its electronic bingo gaming because he claimed they are illegal slot machines.

Greenetrack employs 300-400 and provides funding to the Greene County Board of Education and 911 System.

Thomas had not heard from Tyson or the task force on Monday.

Good for Greentrack officials.  It’s about time someone stood up to yhe bullying by “Bingo Bob” and his vigilante tactics.
