A weekend search for a missing toddler starts with high hopes but ends in frustration in Orlando.

Caylee Anthony disappeared in June and her mother is charged with her murder.

Volunteers spent the weekend looking for Caylee but found nothing.

Tim Miller of EquuSearch says “I know that Caylee’s remains are out there somewhere.“

A dejected Tim Miller says his Texas EquuSearch has spent nearly $100,000 on the search for Caylee.

This weekend’s effort drew more than 2,000 volunteers.

Now, he says, there are four families in North Carolina who need their help.

Tim Miller says “conditions are good, we’ve covered a lot of ground, we are going to be searching tomorrow. We’ll be tearing down late tomorrow afternoon and taking off to North Carolina.“

Caylee’s grandmother, Cindy Anthony, says “it’s discouraging for him but encouraging for us.“

Overnight, Cindy Anthony says she and her husband George drove to Gainesville to follow up on a possible Caylee sighting.

Cindy Anthony says “somebody saw a little girl with a gentleman shopping in a store, and said that the little girl looked like Caylee and so they felt strongly enough to give us a call and say ‘hey I really think you need to check it out.‘“

The Anthonys say they could not tell the child’s identity from a store security video but they hope to find out more tomorrow.

Tim Miller says “it breaks our heart to leave again without finding Caylee.“

Miller says he doubts Caylee’s remains will ever be found unless Casey Anthony comes out with more information.

Tim Miller says “no way in the world would I ever believe that Caylee is still alive but I will support the Anthonys in anything that they’re going to try to do.“

Casey Anthony’s mother, Cindy, says her daughter’s lawyer told her that prosecutors will not seek the death penalty against Casey but that decision could change if new evidence is found.
