Video: 2009 Mudbugs and Music Boil benefits Juvenile Arthritis

The Arthritis Foundation of Alabama is holding its 5th Annual Mudbugs & Music Crawfish Boil presented by the Birmingham Bar Young Lawyers. This event is Open to the Public and held at the Open Door Café in Crestline Park.  Organized by the Associate Board of the Arthritis Foundation, this is a family-friendly fun afternoon of crawfish and music to benefit juvenile arthritis. 
The event will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Open Door Café in Crestline Park.
Admission is $20 for adults and includes all-you-can eat crawfish, souvenir cup, live music, and a silent auction.  Children 12 and under admit free.  The Silent Auction will end at 6:00 p.m. and auction items include weekend getaways, passes to local attractions, artwork and more.  There will be live music by Blue Mountain, Sanders Bohlke, and Wayne Irby of The Disclaimers. 
Mudbugs & Music proceeds benefit the Alabama Juvenile Arthritis Initiative (AJAI).  The AJAI is dedicated to establishing a pediatric rheumatology program in Alabama, juvenile arthritis research initiatives and juvenile arthritis programs.  Many Alabama children go undiagnosed which can result in joint deformities, stunted growth and even death.  Juvenile arthritis affects more children than muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and sickle cell anemia combined.  Since its conception five years ago, the Mudbugs and Music event has been a continued success, raising over $100,000 for juvenile arthritis programs and research funding.
