TUSCALOOSA—- Four people injured in a small plane crash in Tuscaloosa County have been transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Investigators say their injuries are not life threatening.
Officials say the group was traveling from Illinois to Florida. They were scheduled to stopp for fuel at the Tuscaloosa County Airport around 2 o’clock. Shortly before landing, the single-engine plane crashed near Boyd Road and Echola Road in Tuscaloosa County.
Investigators on the scene are interviewing the four victims to find out more information. Officials say they found the plane after one of the passengers called 911 from their cellphone. Officials say they were able to use signals from the cellphone tower to locate the crash.
