Authorities have released the names of two people found dead at a house in Shelby County.

According to a news release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Morris Estates Monday afternoon to check on the welfare of an individual after a family member became concerned and called 911.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the bodies of two adults in the residence, both deceased.

They have been positively identified as George H. Garner, 40 years of age, and Michelle Phillips, 35 years of age.  Both resided at the location where they were discovered.

The preliminary investigation into the cause of death did not indicate foul play or a criminal act and may be accidental in nature.

The exact cause and manner of death for both victims is pending further investigation by Sheriff’s investigators, the Coroner’s Office and the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.
